Global household products company LOCK&LOCK Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Young-Sang) received the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation at the 19th Proud Korean Persons with Disabilities Awards on the 12th.
Organized by the Proud Korean Persons with Disabilities Awards Committee, the awards recognize individuals and organizations that demonstrate a spirit of service by supporting independent living for persons with disabilities and contributing to welfare enhancement, disability awareness, and human rights advancement.
LOCK&LOCK was honored for its contributions to improving the independence and quality of life of persons with disabilities through initiatives such as creating employment opportunities.
Through its corporate social responsibility program, “Courage with LOCK&LOCK,” the company has been supporting people in need around the world, including persons with disabilities, single-parent families, and other vulnerable communities. In particular, LOCK&LOCK has continuously donated household products to Goodwill Store, operated by the social welfare organization Milaal Welfare Foundation, and to Giving Plus, a social contribution retail platform, helping create employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Since 2019, LOCK&LOCK has donated essential household products to Goodwill Store and Giving Plus. The donated items are sorted and sold by employees with disabilities, creating meaningful job opportunities and supporting economic independence.
Lee Young-Sang, CEO of LOCK&LOCK, said, “We are deeply honored and grateful that our efforts to support stable employment and independence for persons with disabilities have been recognized through this meaningful award. Meanwhile, through the “Courage with LOCK&LOCK” initiative, the company launched a new livelihood support program for single-parent families this year through a partnership with Jung-gu District Office and Giving Plus. In March, in celebration of International Women’s Day, LOCK&LOCK also donated essential household products to single-parent families in Korea and Vietnam. In addition, the company has established the “LOCK&LOCK Forest”in desertified regions of Mongolia, supporting ecosystem restoration and economic activities for communities affected by climate change. Through these and other initiatives, LOCK&LOCK continues to make company-wide efforts to support underserved communities around the world.
