Accelerating progress toward “2050 Carbon Neutrality” vision
Highlighting achievements in eco-friendly products, greenhouse gas reduction, and social responsibility
Global household goods company LocknLock Co., Ltd. (CEO: Lee Young-sang) has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, reaffirming its commitment to ESG management under the vision of being a “company that cares for people and the environment.”
LocknLock has been strengthening company-wide ESG practices, with a particular focus last year on addressing the global climate crisis. The company is pushing forward to achieve its long-term vision of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Compared to 2022 levels, direct greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1) fell by 18.4% and indirect emissions (Scope 2) dropped by 34.6% in 2024. At its Vietnam production base, LocknLock plans to increase the share of renewable energy use to 30% by 2030, and is preparing to install 3,509 MWp of solar power facilities at its Vung Tau site.
The company is also expanding the use of eco-friendly materials across product development. LocknLock has obtained ISCC PLUS certification for products made with eco-friendly amorphous copolymers and chemically recycled polypropylene, materials already applied to its overseas-exported LocknLock Classic line. In addition, FSC-certified packaging has been introduced to the 50L kimchi refrigerator model, with plans to further broaden the adoption of sustainable packaging.
LocknLock continues to advance resource circulation and social contribution efforts. Through its “Love for Planet” recycling campaign, the company collects waste plastics and repurposes them into industrial materials and upcycled benches along Jeju Olle trails. Employees have also launched “Eusseuk,” a biodiversity club focused on endangered species protection. Recently, LocknLock initiated a desertification prevention project in Mongolia, creating carbon-storing forests that not only restore ecosystems but also support the livelihoods of local communities.
The company also runs the “With LocknLock” program worldwide, supporting single-parent families and disaster victims. It has signed an agreement with Goodwill Store of Miral Welfare Foundation, donating products to help create jobs for people with disabilities. In 2024 alone, these efforts contributed to the employment of 110 individuals with disabilities.
Ahn Sung-il, Executive Vice President and CHRO overseeing ESG at LocknLock, stated:
“LocknLock is growing beyond providing products for a better daily life, into a company that delivers positive impact to the environment and society. We will continue to expand meaningful ESG initiatives worldwide, protecting both people and the planet, and building a sustainable future.”
